Ok, if you look down the left sidebar, you’ll see I’ve added the “Alexa Traffic” stats. This is THE ONLY site/blog I’ve ever done that.
Why did I do it? Well, look at it… 6,194,824 rank.
Alexa rank is like your golf score… the lower the better… I’ve got a long ways to go.
I’ve listed the stats so you can watch that number go down (get much better) over time as I drive traffic to this site.
Like it or not… most traffic exchanges have exceptional Alexa ratings. Having a site listed on them, and then actually having your site seen will affect your Alexa rating in a positive manner.
I know, most folks say the traffic generated is pretty “low quality”. By who’s standards?
Let me lay out a quick analogy.
McDonald’s advertises their burgers on buses and on billboards, and on TV. Now, we all know you can’t buy a cheeseburger at any of these locations. I think we can also agree that the advertising is pretty generic, and not particularly targeted to you any more than to your neighbor or the guy in the next car.
MickyD’s knows one thing that most folks don’t consider… when you’re hungry, and you see one of their ads… you’re suddenly hungry for a burger, not just any burger, their burger!
That’s the way it is with Traffic Exchanges.
As folks surf… and yes, they do surf. They see your site. They’re not there to see your site, they’re there to push eyeballs to their site… but our brains being the marvelous things they are let’s your message get into the surfer’s brain.
With that said… if my ad (page) is seen often enough (like the MickyD’s ads) when the surfer wants the product I sell… and many folks sell the same products from different stores… they’ll think of my page, and my product.
Some folks call that being “ubiquitous” within your niche.
So, back to the traffic exchanges and surfing.
Now, the real name of the game is to get others to build your traffic by building a huge “downline” or referral network. I used to have one of those, back when I was really active in Internet Marketing.
I looked yesterday, and I can count my active downlines on one hand… I’m starting over and I’ll be using both the program I’ve been in (but not active) since 2001 and a new one. I’m still studying their guide… but if you’re looking for the latest in viral traffic generation, this one looks good.
A quick word about why I feel this new viral traffic generation program is a winner. It’s relatively new. It incorporates some Web 2.0 concepts. It includes list building, which is always an issue. Right now, it’s free to join, although I’ll warn you… when it comes to building your list, you’ll be spending some money on an autoresponder.
Ok, I’m off to add this blog to my Traffic Exchange sites. You’ll be seeing a lot more of me in days to come.
Heck, shortly, I hope to actually introduce you to the business I’m building!
